MUSIC PERFORMANCE ASSESSMENT

The 8th Grade Band will be travelling to a Music Performance Assessment!  (Location and Date TBD.)

What is an MPA?  We'll be on stage and perform three pieces of music for a panel of judges.  I'm planning to have us play The Alma Mater, Shaker Variants, and Celtic Air and Dance.  After that performance, we'd move into another area called... The Sight Reading Room!  In this room, they'll hand me a new piece of music that none of us have ever seen.  (Don't worry - it will be an elementary band level song.)  We'll have 5 minutes to rehearse it, and then... play it all!  When this is all done - we'll receive a rating.  We're aiming for a 1 ("Superior") or 2 ("Outstanding").
