Student Services helps connect students and families with academic, social-emotional, behavioral, health, attendance, mental health, gifted, special education, and related supports. If you are concerned about your child’s progress, well-being, attendance, behavior, or access to school, start by contacting your child’s teacher, school counselor, school nurse, or building principal. The school team will help determine the appropriate next step.
Contact your child’s classroom teacher first if you have an academic, classroom, or general school concern.
Contact the school counselor if your child needs social-emotional support, help with peer relationships, school adjustment, or family-related support.
Contact the school nurse for health concerns, medical documentation, medication questions, immunizations, allergies, or illness-related needs.
Contact the building principal or student services team if you have concerns about attendance, behavior, special education, gifted support, homelessness, mental health, or access to school.
Share any relevant documents, outside evaluations, medical information, custody information, or previous school records that may help the school support your child.
Student Services includes a range of school and district supports designed to help students access learning and participate successfully in school. These supports may include academic interventions, attendance support, counseling services, health services, mental health resources, gifted support, special education, speech and language support, English language development, homeless student resources, and other related services.
Concerns about a student’s academic progress, behavior, attendance, health, social-emotional well-being, or school access should be shared with the appropriate school staff member. The school team may review available information, communicate with the family, provide interventions, refer the concern to a school-based team, or recommend additional evaluation or support when appropriate.
