Biohazard wastes (pads, gloves, etc) are disposed of inside the Stericylce cardboard box or plastic biowaste containers. The cardboard box or plastic biowaste container should contain a red biohazard liner and have a lid. The lid should be kept closed when not in use and should be located in a way that prevents a child from placing their hands into it. These biowaste containers are to be filled to 75% capacity, and then the bag should be tied with a single overhand knot and the lid closed and taped. No free-flowing liquid is to be disposed of inside the biowaste containers. Once full, place in the biohazard waste holding area. Only employees trained in the proper disposal of biohazard
waste should perform this task.
General solid waste may be disposed of in a bag lined trash can. General solid waste includes any waste that is not a chemical or biohazardous waste including garbage, paper, and plastic.
