If an employee experiences an occupational injury or illness, notify your supervisor immediately. Post incident exposure plans are located in the EHS manual. Every location should have on site a non-specimen related and a specimen related injury/illness exposure plan for employees to refer to. The supervisor will direct you to the appropriate contracted health care provider for evaluation for treatment and complete all forms necessary for worker’s compensation. Your supervisor will advise you on the location of these items once you are on site.
Reporting and Investigation: All injuries which occur at the worksite, regardless of the severity, must be reported per company policy. An Injury/Illness report must be submitted to EHS by the supervisor or employee within 24 hours of injury unless otherwise instructed. As soon as possible after the injury occurs, a follow up investigation must be conducted by the employees’ supervisor and EHS Officer and corrective actions recorded on an Injury/Illness Investigation report. EHS will review all corrective actions and conduct further investigation if needed.
All follow up appointments are considered part of employment with Labcorp and must be attended. Unless otherwise arranged, transportation to follow up clinic visit will be provided by the injured employee.
Report any EHS concern to your supervisor and/or EHS via the Compliance Action Line. All concerns will be investigated and handled accordingly. Utilize one of these ways to contact EHS:
