Enhancing writing


Having the ability to communicate our thoughts, feelings, ideas and information effectively determines how successful we can be as individuals both in a school, workplace, home and wider world context (Anderson, 2001 & Gadd, 2017). Writing is probably the most challenging of ways to communicate.


Our job as educators is to embrace and nurture a culture that holds writing as a creative process that empowers our students and provides them with opportunities to develop their view of the world, through contexts that are real and meaningful. It requires us to:

It is intended that the framework will help to provide clarity about how to enhance writing in your classroom and could be used as a starting point to develop key aspects of your teaching practice.
