All assignments must be completed by the student. Preferably completed and turned in on time.
Late work is accepted with grade deductions based on the quality of work, the amount of time it is late, and the amount of communication from the student prior to the due date.
The percentage taken off for being turned in late should not exceed 30%. Work that is turned in shortly after it is due and the student remained in communication with Mr. Phillips prior to the due date, may not be reduced the full 30%.
Meaning, completed and turned in work that is of a quality to earn an A, would not fail due to being turned in late. A 90% would at most be reduced to a 60%. However, work that is below a 90% that is turned in late could result in a failing grade on that assignment.
Excessive late work (2+ occurrences per semester) is more likely to be reduced.
