ABout Mr. Phillips
Mr. Phillips graduated from the University of Central Missouri with a Bachelor of Science in Education: Social Studies degree in 2012. He earned a Master of Arts in History from Pittsburg State University in Spring of 2020. Mr. Phillips is a 2008 graduate of Odessa High School.
Following graduation from UCM, Mr. Phillips married his lovely wife, Gretchen, whom he followed to southeast Missouri to teach for a year before joining the staff of Oak Grove High School in the 2013-2014 school year. That fall, their family grew to include their son, Henry.
Mr. Phillips got into teaching for his love of knowledge and learning. Additionally, in memory of his grandmother who taught 1st grade for over 30 years in the Oak Grove School District.
His other duties include running the video scoreboard, announcing Soccer games, hosting Smash Club, Monday detentions, proctoring the ACT, and Assistant Scholar Bowl Coach.
In his spare time, he enjoys playing board games, miniature golf, LEGO, researching his genealogy, and curating a map of Barq's Red Crème Soda locations.
