This course is designed to provide an opportunity for development of muscular strength, muscular endurance, and flexibility. Free weights, plyometrics, body weight movement, and conditioning exercises are incorporated to improve many of the elements of fitness. Proper technique, safety precautions, and proper applications of multiple exercises are emphasized. Students learn anatomical positions and muscle structure, as well as muscle groups.
Each day students earned up to 20 points for the following:
Changing out into appropriate gym attire. Including proper tennis shoes.
Participation in the day's activity with full effort for the full length of the class period.
Maintain a positive attitude towards coaches, the game, and classmates.
Be a good sport by playing by the rules, being courteous, and competing at the appropriate level.
When a student is absent from class, they are expected to make up for the missed class. For each absence, the student fills out the OGHS Make-up Form. This form includes:
30 minutes of some type of activity (example walking, playing basketball or soccer, etc.)
Their pulse before and after the activity.
A parent/guardian signature declaring that the student has completed the task.
Students have the entire quarter to make-up and turn in the form through google classroom or by email to Coach Sells.
