Food pantries- San Juan Unified has a food pantry located within their Central Enrollment Office on Walnut (3738 Walnut Ave, Carmichael). This food pantry is open to anyone on Tuesday and Thursdays 11am-2pm. Families do not need to bring any documentation with them.
Food Banks:
Sacramento Food Bank has farmers markets around the area monthly (see calendars for Nov and Dec attached). Families can go to any of the markets and pick up fresh fruits and vegetables. They just need to bring their own bags!
Orangevale has its own food bank within walking distance of our OV site and families from OV and Fair Oaks can receive groceries once a month based on the size of their household.
The River City Food Bank has expanded its services to include the Arden-Arcade area and families who qualify for aid can receive groceries once a month based on the size of their household.
