Embassy Suites by Hilton offers guests a comfortable and welcoming stay with spacious suites, modern amenities, and a convenient location connected to the St. Charles Convention Center. Embassy serves as our main job site and the location of our Learning Lab, where interns working at both the hotel and Convention Center build hard and soft skills while also learning about interview techniques and resume development.
As part of its partnership with our program, interns have the unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience across a variety of departments. From assisting in Housekeeping and Laundry to helping with Complimentary Breakfast, supporting the Kitchen and Banquets, working at the Front Desk, assisting Maintenance, and refreshing rooms as a Houseman, interns are exposed to the many different roles that keep a hotel running smoothly.
Housekeeping interns at Embassy Suites assist with keeping common areas throughout the hotel clean and welcoming. They learn tasks such as vacuuming, sweeping, mopping, cleaning windows, and emptying trash.
As Laundry Room Attendants, interns play an important role in keeping the hotel running smoothly by handling the behind-the-scenes work that supports housekeeping. They learn how to wash, dry, fold, and organize linens and towels, operate the iron, and ensure clean items are delivered where they are needed.
In the Maintenance Department, interns help keep the hotel in top condition by performing daily lightbulb checks throughout the building, inspecting equipment to ensure it is working properly, and completing touch-up projects like painting railings and baseboards.
As Housemen, interns support the housekeeping team by collecting dirty linens and sheets and sending them down the laundry chute. They also help refresh guest rooms by emptying trash, stripping bedding, and preparing the space for a full cleaning.
In the mornings, interns gain experience in Complimentary Breakfast by bussing and cleaning tables to keep the dining space welcoming for guests. In the afternoons, they assist the Banquets Department with event setup and service, learning how to support large gatherings and provide excellent hospitality.
At the Front Desk, interns learn the importance of customer service as they greet guests, assist with check-ins and check-outs, answer questions, and help with guest needs. This role gives them valuable experience in communication, professionalism, and problem-solving in a fast-paced hospitality environment.
Our internship program would not be possible without the dedication and support of the employees at Embassy Suites. They play a vital role in guiding and teaching our interns, sharing their knowledge, and providing hands-on training that helps students build real-world skills. Their mentorship not only ensures the success of the program but also creates a positive and encouraging environment for our interns to grow.
