Bridge to Success
Bridge to Success
Bridge to Success is all about working together — home, school, and community — to help students with disabilities thrive.
Our goal is to give every student the support and opportunities they need as they move through high school and prepare for life after graduation. By offering hands-on, real-world work experience, Bridge to Success helps students in St. Charles County high schools get ready for future careers and independence.
Bridge to Success partners with three local job sites — Embassy Suites, the St. Charles Convention Center, and Fresh Thyme Market — to provide students with meaningful internship opportunities.
Through these partnerships, students gain hands-on experience in hospitality, event services, and retail while building important workplace skills. By working alongside professionals in real-world settings, our interns not only explore different career paths but also develop confidence and independence that will support them well beyond high school.
At Embassy Suites, interns get hands-on experience in hospitality, from guest services to complimentary breakfast and housekeeping. Students learn the importance of teamwork, communication, and customer assistance in a professional hotel setting.

Interns at the St. Charles Convention Center step into the fast-paced world of events and conferences. They help with setup, housekeeping, and banquet services, gaining valuable insight into what it takes to make large events run smoothly.
At Fresh Thyme, students explore the retail side of the workforce. Interns assist with stocking, customer service, bagging groceries, pushing carts, and daily store operations while learning responsibility and time management in a real-world environment.

In addition to on-the-job training, student interns spend 30 minutes in the classroom before and after each work shift. During this time, they focus on building both hard and soft skills, practicing effective communication, and preparing for the future.
Students create professional resumes, learn the basics of successful interviewing, and even role-play with real HR managers to gain confidence. This combination of classroom learning and hands-on experience helps students grow into well-rounded, work-ready young adults.
