The Triple E Framework, developed by Liz Kolb at Univ. Michigan, asks teachers to look at whether a tech tool fosters student (E)ngagement in learning, (E)nhancement of learning goals, and (E)xtension of learning goals.
Rubric for Triple E Tool Evaluation
Technological Pedagogical and Content Knowledge (TPACK) is a framework for identifying the distinct similarities and differences between the technical, pedagogical, and content knowledge that teachers need to effectively used tech tools.
TPACK focuses teachers on the knowledge that lies in the intersections of these three primary forms of knowledge. It roots effective tech tool use in developing sensitivity to how these forms interrelate and constantly change with learning contexts.

The SAMR model, developed by Ruben Puentedura, offers a framework of stages that adopters of technology tools often engage in when teaching and learning.
Awareness of what stage we're at in our use of a given tool, what stage we're ultimately aiming for, and what we're asking of our students as a result, is an important skill toward effective tool use.
Assess Needs and Goals:
Determine the learning objectives.
Identify areas where technology can enhance learning.
Start Small:
Begin with substitution and augmentation to build confidence.
Gradually move towards modification and redefinition as comfort with technology grows.
Professional Development:
Training and resources for teachers support learning about new tools and methods.
Participate in peer sharing of best practices and successes.
Integrate Seamlessly:
Choose technology that complements the curriculum and enhances learning experiences.
Ensure technology is accessible to all students.
Evaluate and Reflect:
Continuously assess the impact of technology on learning outcomes.
Gather feedback from students and teachers to make improvements.
Foster a Collaborative Environment:
Encourage collaboration among students using technology.
Use tools that facilitate communication and teamwork.
