Counseling & Confidentiality


Confidentiality:

It is the Counselings department's responsibility to develop and maintain relationships with students based on trust and care. All student conversations and interactions with counselors in the counseling office will remain confidential. However, a counselor is required by law, to break confidentiality if there are safety concerns for the student(s). These concerns are outlined as exceptions, listed below.

Confidentiality exceptions:

----> If a student reports that someone has or is currently harming them in any way

----> If a student reports that they want to harm themselves or others.

----> Mandated by the court
