What is a Student Engagement Specialist (SES)?
Student Engagement Specialists (SESs) serve as the primary point of contact for the student and family. The Student Engagement Specialist (SES) typically remains with a student for the entire instructional period and has the primary responsibility of guiding the student towards academic success, social development, and overall preparation for a post-secondary choice. Student Engagement Specialists (SESs) will use tools such as Zoom meetings, Assignment Schedules, Study Sessions, Social Emotional Learning techniques, and regular contact to engage the student.
Students are expected to meet regularly with their Student Engagement Specialist (SES). Students are expected to engage in telephone, text, and email communication with the Student Engagement Specialist (SES). Students are also expected to attend Student Engagement Meetings (SEMs) via Zoom. Students may, additionally, need to attend Teacher Meetings or Study Groups via Zoom.
