What is experiential education? Experiential education is difficult to define. For years, philosophers have struggled to define "experience." However, the Association for Experiential Education (AEE) provides a good place to start:
"a philosophy that informs many methodologies in which educators purposefully engage with learners in direct experience and focused reflection in order to increase knowledge, develop skills, clarify values, and develop people's capacity to contribute to their communities." (Association of Experiential Education)
Experiential Learning Theory
Experiential Learning Theory is really a synthesis of the works of scholars who centered experience in their theories of human learning and development.
