The most important step of the Post Production phase is being able to set up your Premiere CC project the correct way. Premiere like all Non-Linear Editing Programs requires that your files be located in neatly organized and labeled folder on your desktop.
Importing a video or audio file into your Premiere CC project does not permanently embed the video file into your project. Rather Premiere is only temporarily remembering where that file is located. As long as that file remains in the same directory from when you first imported it premiere will know where it is!
What does that mean???? It means that if you close your project completely or even while its open- DELETE or MOVE A FILE from where it was located originally, the program will not be able to automatically look for the new file location. If this occurs you will have to manually RE-LINK the file to its new location.
