Coming up: Friday, December 5th, is a PD Day, so there will be no school for students on that day.
As the weather gets colder, a gentle reminder that students need to come to school dressed to be outside for up to 40 minutes. Please label belongings, including hats, mitts, gloves, boots, scarves and coats. On cold days, all students will be required to wear their coats when outside.
Thank you to all families and students who supported our CEFO Pumpkin Raffle!
This year, SMY raised $989.21 for the Catholic Education Foundation of Ottawa, helping support families in need. Our OCSB Charitable Campaign theme, “OCSB Builds Bridges,” reminds us of the power of community and kindness. A special thank you to Metro Townsgate for donating the pumpkins — great job, SMY!
Our Kindergarten Team is collecting gently used items to enhance outdoor play and spark creativity, problem-solving, and imagination! We’re looking for materials that can be repurposed as outdoor toys, helping create a fun and inclusive play space for all.
Suggested items include:
🍴 Kitchen utensils (spoons, whisks, muffin tins)
🪣 Sand and water play items (funnels, pitchers, colanders)
🧱 Building materials (PVC pipes, milk crates, wooden spools)
🧸 Toys (tool sets, animals, hula hoops, Magna-Tiles, books, playing cards)
A donation bin will be available during Parent-Teacher Interviews on Thursday, November 20th, from 3:10 pm to 7:30 pm.
Thank you for helping us enrich outdoor learning and play at SMY!
Warmly,
The Kindergarten Team

Please fill out this Volunteer Sign-Up form - We need your help!
Foods containing nuts (tree nuts or legumes) are not permitted at school at any time of year. We have many children with severe nut allergies (both peanut and other nuts); therefore, ALL student snacks and lunches must be entirely peanut- and nut-free.
As per Ministry guidelines, students at St. Marguerite d'Youville are not permitted to use cell phones during the school day. If a student needs to reach their parents/guardians, they must come to the office. If a student has a cell phone at school, they must keep it in their backpack, and the phone should not be seen by anyone. If students are seen with their phones out, they will bring their phones to the Office.
