Principal's Message
The very cold weather is upon us. We will be going outside for all recesses during cold weather unless it is -25 degrees celsius or lower. Please ensure your child has a hat, gloves/mittens, winter jacket & snow pants so they are dressed for our canadian winters.
Thank you to Father Martin for presiding at our Advent Mass this week, Mrs. Cormier and Ms. McDonald for hosting the mass, and to our wonderful choir, Mme Monique and Mrs. Lepindea for the beautiful music.
Friday, December 12th will be a very busy day at our school! Firstly, students will be decorating their gingerbread houses. Please ensure to send nut-free candy with your child so they may decorate the houses. Note that there are eggs in the icing and gluten in the graham crackers that school council provides students to decorate their house. Please send in a substitute if your child has allergies. Secondly, students may shop at the Convent Glen Christmas Store for their families. Each present is $1. Please send your child with coins or small bills to make their purchases. As well, parents may visit the Scholastic Book Fair in the learning commons if they would like to purchase items for their children.
Thank you to families who have dropped off donations (gently-used, appropriate items or gift bags/tissue paper/bows/tape) for the Christmas Store at the office. We continue to collect items until Thursday, December 12th.
There is a PD tomorrow, Dec 5th, so there is no school for students.

The Advent Hope Project
We are excited to continue The Advent Hope Project at Convent Glen Catholic School during this Advent Season.
During the first two weeks of Advent, December 1st to December 12th, we invite families to donate gift cards. These cards will be gifted to families in need at our school and our sister school, St. John Paul II.
Practical gift cards are from places like Walmart, Dollarama, Toys R’ Us, Giant Tiger or Canadian Tire etc. Please send the gift card with your child to school to give to his/her homeroom teacher. Any amount is much appreciated. Please tape the gift receipt to the gift card and clearly write the money amount on the gift card, so these can be evenly distributed between the families in need.
Thank you for helping to bring hope to local families this Advent
Dear Convent Glen Families,
We hope you are doing well. We have some exciting news to share with you about a wonderful opportunity for our school choir.
Our talented student choir has been invited to perform the National Anthem at an Ottawa 67's hockey game! The choir will get to sing in front of about 4,000 cheering fans at TD Place in Lansdowne on Friday, January 30th at 7:00 PM. What an amazing experience this will be for our young singers and school community!
This event is a great fundraising opportunity for our school. Family members can buy tickets to the performance and game. Tickets are available to purchase on School Cash Online starting this evening for $26 each, which is cheaper than purchasing tickets online. For every ticket sold, $5 will go directly back to our school, making this an amazing fundraising opportunity! Any money raised will go towards various school enhancements.
What's Included
Each choir student will receive a complimentary ticket to the game. Our school will have our own special section (Section 27) where families can sit together. After singing the anthem, please come to get your child from the singing area to watch the rest of the game together. Once the anthem has finished, there is no staff supervision. Feel free to sit anywhere in section 27.
Please note that transportation to and from TD Place will need to be arranged by each family. The venue is located at Lansdowne Park in Ottawa, which has parking available.
We are so excited about this opportunity for our choir students to shine! Thank you for supporting our choir program and helping make these special experiences possible for our students.
If your child will attend the event, please cut and fill out the slip below and have your child return it to school before Friday December 12th, 2025 to any choir leader.
Sincerely,
Sarah Lepindea, Monique Guillouzic and Karenne Cormier
