It is important to note that in Canada, we use the terms: Indigenous, First Nations (whenever possible use regionally specific terms: Algonquin, Ojibwe, Cree, Haida, etc.), Métis (a person who self-identifies as Métis, is of historic Métis Nation ancestry, is distinct from other Indigenous peoples, and is accepted by the Métis Nation) or Inuit (Inuit are Indigenous people of the Arctic, the word Inuit means "the people" in the Inuit language of Inuktitut). Native is similar to saying 'First Nations', however, this term is used less frequently in Canada. When exploring these great resources, adjust the language to fit a Canadian lens
