Getting Ready for Camp

Heading off to Leadership Camp? We’ve got you covered.

This page is your go-to guide for what to bring, how to get ready, and what your weekend might look like.

So it's the Friday of Camp...

Camp begins immediately after classes finish on a Friday. Meet in the caf where the fun begins... Remember to wear comfortable clothing and shoes to school on Friday, as you will be very active right away.

Below you will find a list of stuff that you should bring with you to camp. When you come to school on Friday, please drop off your camp stuff in the Conference Room (just off the Alcove) before going to class.

What do I pack?

Come prepared for comfort, connection and tons of fun! Here's what we recommend you bring.

Sleeping bag or lots of blankets (the gyms can get cold)
Foamie to sleep on (SUPER MEGA IMPORTANT)
Pillows (bring extras for your sessions)
Water bottle (refillable)
Flashlight (the gyms are dark at night)
Running shoes
Comfortable clothes
PJ's
Toothbrush / toothpaste
Earplugs – these might help you get to sleep
Towel / soap / shampoo
Extra socks – bring lots (smelly feet are not fun for anyone)
Slippers, sandals or flipflops
Deodorant - don’t just bring it - Use it!
Lip balm. The school is a pretty dry place and this stuff will really help.

While we don’t want to give everything away—after all, part of the magic of Leadership Camp is the unexpected!—we know it helps to have a general idea of how the weekend will unfold.

Here's a sample schedule to give you a sense of what to expect… just know there are plenty of surprises, laughs, and memorable moments waiting for you along the way.

Event Descriptions

Opening Games

Snacks! Games! Fun in the Caf! Meet the Armadillos, see who else signed up for camp, meet your Secondary Group members, and learn a little bit more about all the fun we have in store for you.

Opening Ceremonies

Meet your Builders, meet your Primary Group members and learn your room themes while watching the Builders make fools of themselves.

Session

Spend time with your Builders and your Primary Groups in your Session Rooms. Play games, eat snacks, tell stories, laugh lots and learn some skills along the way.

Secondary Group Game

Reconvene in the Caf with your Secondary Groups for a quick Icebreaker Game.

Performance

Watch the Builders, and sometimes the Armadillos, make fools of themselves on the stage in the Caf.

Murder Mystery

The school goes dark. There is a mysterious crime. Roam the building with your Secondary Groups, track down and interview suspects, avoid scarers, gather clues and try to solve the crime!

Grad Builder Talks

Gather in the Cafeteria and listen to the some of the Grad Builders share their stories and a life lesson each with the whole camp.

Armadillo’s Hour

What will it be this year, a talk, a game, a guest speaker, Little Ray’s Reptiles…who knows!? Guess you’ll have to attend Camp to find out!

Amazing Race

In your Secondary Groups, solve clues to find stations hidden around the school. Compete in games and challenges at each station to earn points or prizes that will help you compete in an epic showdown in the Caf at the end of the game.

Passports + Skit Prep

In your Sesson Rooms with your Primary Groups, sign each other’s Passports and plan a short skit to roast your Builders.

Special Dinner

Attend a very special dinner in the Caf!

Dyadics

Really get you know your Primary Group. Share fears, hopes, dreams, laughs and find out who in your group thinks cereal is a soup!

Campfire

Attend a sing-along “campfire” in the Caf with the whole Camp featuring special musical guest performances by some of your favorite teachers.

Spiral

The final closing ceremonies of camp before we send you all back home tired, happy, and maybe a little sad that it’s all over…until next year!
