All grade 9 Pre-IB students take MTH1WE. This course is designed to meet students varied levels of learning as they exit grade 8 from various schools, cities and countries. The courses content covers all of the Ontario's curriculum from the MTH1W course as well as Trigonometry, Analytic Geometry and Quadratic expressions. The course takes an IB lens to the Ontario curriculum. This all means students will be faced with a high level of challenge and will be prepared during lessons for the IB Diploma Program which begins in grade 11. Given that this may be students first time being challenged in a mathematics course, teachers and students will work together to ease the transition and develop strong learning skills.
