AMU3ME and AMU4ME emphasizes the performance of music at a level that strikes a balance between challenge and skill. We will aim to develop musicality, sensitivity, and imagination while exploring diverse music. Students will participate in activities that teach them to listen and express with an understanding of the creative process and the elements of music. They will learn the techniques, terminology, and theory behind the art of music. Students will explore social, historical and cultural influences of music.
IB Music Aims:
Explore a range of musical context and make links to, and between, different musical practices, conventions and forms of expression.
Acquire, develop and experiment with musical competencies through a range of musical practices, conventions and forms of expression, both individually and in collaboration with others.
Evaluate and develop critical perspectives on their own music and the work of others.
The IB visual arts course encourages students to challenge their own creative boundaries and explore their cultural experiences. In this course, students learn to analyze art and solve creative problems while becoming skilled and confident artists. They will examine and compare visual arts from various viewpoints and situations. Students will also experiment with a wide range of contemporary art practices and media, and think critically about what they create.
IB Visual Art Aims:
Theoretical Practice - Using investigative strategies, critical thinking, comparative analysis and reflection students examine various art forms and artist from different times, places and cultures.
Art-making Practice - Through exploration and experimentation students apply a variety of artistic techniques to create a collection of artwork.
Curatorial Practice - Students will develop the ability to curate and displaying their own artwork.
The IB Diploma Programme theatre course is a multifaceted theatre-making course of study. It gives students the opportunity to make theatre as creators, designers, directors and performers. It emphasizes the importance of working both individually and collaboratively as part of an ensemble. It offers the opportunity to engage actively in the creative process, transforming ideas into action as inquisitive and productive artists.
The theatre course encourages discovery through practical inquiry, experimentation, creative risk taking and the presentation of ideas to others. Through the study of theatre, students become aware of their own personal and cultural perspectives, developing an appreciation of the diversity of theatre practices, their processes and their modes of presentation.
