I have lived in Ottawa my whole life and I have been teaching at AY for over 15 years. I have taught History, Civics, Math, and Parenting. When I’m not at school you can find me spending time with my husband and three kids. I love reading, baking and hiking as well as camping in the summertime.
As an Army brat I have lived all over Canada and the world. I graduated from Dalhousie University with a Bachelor’s Degree in Marine Biology and then attended Western University for teacher’s college. I started my teaching career in Sweden, teaching science for two years before coming back home to Ottawa. At AY, you can find me coaching the boys hockey team and the lacrosse team. When I am not at AY, you can find me hanging out with my family at a local arena, coaching and playing hockey, or coaching and playing lacrosse.
I grew up in Ottawa and went to Western and U of T for University. I have a bachelor of Medical Science and a Master’s of Math for teachers. I have taught math, dance, phys-ed and science. You can find me coaching the golf and softball teams, and playing intramurals at lunch. Outside of school I occasionally coach, judge and compete in gymnastics. I also dance, golf and play softball.
I teach Math and PhysEd here at AY. I coach the varsity girls field hockey team in the fall and the varsity girls soccer team in the spring. I also play on quite a few sport teams myself. I run many of the school trips and exchanges and have taken students overseas to Greece and Spain, as well as exchange trips to Nova Scotia and Manitoba. I travel all over the world for pleasure and also humanitarian aid. I run the ski and snowboard club, taking students on one day trips to Tremblant and weekend trips to Le Massif and Mont Ste Anne.
I grew up in Peterborough and moved to Ottawa in 2002. I graduated from Trent University with a Bachelors of Science joint major Computer Studies and Mathematics. I attended Ottawa University for teachers college. I have been teaching for the OCDSB since 2002. Here at the school I run the Waterloo Math contest, Computer Science contest, coding club, robotics club and update our school website. I spend most of my free time with my husband and 2 wonderful kids Katrina and Alexavier normally at the local areas or gyms. I love spending time building or fixing things, baking, biking, walking, kayaking, SUP, or playing road hockey and basketball with my family.
I grew up in Ottawa and graduated from the University of Ottawa with a Bachelor of Social Science specializing in Economics and a Master of Education focusing on teaching and learning. I spent a short time in the Canadian Armed Forces as an Officer. I have taught mathematics, computer science, and communications technology courses. I enjoy running, hiking, snowboarding, and cubing.
I grew up in Niagara Falls and graduated from Brock University with a Bachelors of Business Administration, Honours with a concentration in Human Resources Management. I attended Niagara University in Lewiston, NY for my Masters of Science in Education. I started my teaching career in England, teaching math for a year before moving to North Western Ontario where I taught math and business on a First Nations Reservation for 3 years. Following my time in North Western Ontario I moved to Ottawa in 2016 to join OCDSB. I have been part of the AY team since 2018 teaching in our Special Education program, Business and Math. When I am not teaching you can find me spending time with my husband and two children.
I grew up in Oshawa and graduated from Laurentian University with a Bachelors of Science in Mathematics and Computer Science. I went to Queens’ University to get my Bachelors of Education and started my Teaching career in Mississauga in 2004. Years later moved to Ottawa and started teaching at AY in 2019. When I am not at school you can find me out and about with my family, on the local basketball court, or at the local Dojo.
I grew up in Yorkshire, England, and graduated from the Universtity of Edinburgh, Scotland, with a Bachelors of Science in Mathematics. I also have a Master of Mathematics for Teachers from the University of Waterloo. At AY I am the Department Head for Math, Business and Computer Science and run the AP Calculus program. I have coached soccer and rugby and organised school exchanges with Winnipeg, Vancouver, Spain and China. Outside of school, my two kids keep me very active. We love to travel all over Europe. I spend my spare time reading, playing piano and singing in a choir.
