Explore art history as a living creative journey— Each visually guided module introduces the historical setting, defining ideas, artists, artworks, vocabulary, and close-looking questions before inviting students to make an artwork of their own. Every lesson includes three creative pathways: Achieving offers an accessible foundation, Reaching develops technique and intentional choices, and Transcending encourages independent interpretation, deeper meaning, and personal voice. Teachers may assign the pathway that best fits each learner, offer students a choice, or use all three as a natural progression from understanding art history to becoming part of its continuing story.
Explore the imaginative world of Surrealism through the works of Salvador Dalí, René Magritte, Max Ernst, Joan Miró, Frida Kahlo, and Yves Tanguy. Students discover how artists combined dreams, unexpected objects, symbolism, distortion, and imagination to create mysterious works of art. They then choose from three studio projects: Dream Collage Scene, Surreal Object Transformation, or Dream Door Collage, while building skills in composition, visual storytelling, creative problem-solving, symbolism, and personal expression.
