The Center for Learning, Education, and Research in the Sciences (CLEAR) at Oberlin College is dedicated to supporting STEM students and fostering a sense of community, especially for underrepresented groups. Our headquarters, K-100, is a flexible, high-profile space located just off the south entrance of the Science Center. Equipped with modern amenities, K-100 is designed for teaching, learning, events, and meeting needs, and is also perfect for studying or relaxing with friends or on your own.
Open Hours
K-100 open hours are Mon-Fri, 10AM - 4PM. Times may vary. During these hours, K-100 is open to all (with the exception of private reservations during these hours).
K-100 offers a variety of amenities to enhance your experience:
Kitchen Station: Hot, cold, and room temperature water, mini fridge, coffee pot, and snack bin.
Craft Supplies: Available for creative projects.
Whiteboards: Both rolling and wall-mounted for brainstorming and presentations.
Projector: For multimedia presentations.
Seating: Includes rolling and folding tables, chairs, comfy seating including an extra large bean bag, and more.
Plants and Books: To create a pleasant and resourceful atmosphere.
STEM Fellow Office: Located adjacent to the space for easy access to support.
Beautiful Courtyard View: Enhances the ambiance of the room.
K-100 is ideal for a variety of activities, such as:
Interactive Discussions and Workshops: Perfect for engaging and collaborative sessions.
Study Sessions and Tutoring: A supportive environment for academic success.
Community Events: Foster a sense of belonging among STEM students, particularly historically underrepresented students in STEM disciplines.

We encourage students and faculty to make the most of K-100. To reserve the space, simply fill out our reservation form. Programming that is aligned with CLEAR's mission and values will be prioritized. Join us in utilizing this valuable resource to enhance your STEM experience at Oberlin College. To use and reserve K-100, you must adhere to the usage guidelines and expectations listed below:
Requirements:
Someone approved to have access to this room must be present when it is in use. Please be sure to include this person in the reservation.
Approved work times coincide with building hours.
Weekly recurring event reservations cannot exceed 2 hours.
One-time reservations cannot exceed 4 hours.
Room guidelines:
The host (person who made the reservation) of the room must clean used surfaces of debris, food, and items. The host must return all moved furniture to their original positions.
If your reservation is on the weekend or ends any time after 5 pm on a weekday, you must turn off the lights and close the door when you leave the space.
Reservations take precedence over open hours- be mindful of reservations by checking the calendar below.
