Qualifications:
Must be a graduating senior of the class of 2026
Must be a member of the OABCIG FFA program
Must be pursuing an Agriculturally related career

A few of the highlights of the new DMACC Future of Agriculture Scholarship are:
This scholarship is open for students who served as their FFA Chapter President, Vice President, Secretary, Reporter, Treasurer, and/or Sentinel
A $1,500 per semester scholarship will be awarded for up to 5 consecutive semesters at DMACC, as long as requirements are maintained
Students must pursue an associate's degree in Agribusiness, Horticulture, or Veterinary Technology
7 scholarship will be awarded; one per each of the 6 FFA districts and 1 at-large

Scholarship Requirements
Available to current high school seniors and undergraduates or graduate students attending a post-secondary college, university, or technical school, who are passionate about agriculture and our community
Eligible applicants must have graduated from a high school or home school program in Buena Vista, Cherokee, Ida, O'Brien, Plymouth, or Woodbury counties in Iowa
Pursuit of an ag-related degree or trade is a MUST
It is NOT required that the applicant be a rodeo athlete

Once application materials have been reviewed, selected applicants will be asked to participate in a face-to-face conversation with the Cherokee Rodeo Scholarship Committee before the final selection is made. These conversations will likely take place in March.
Further Details:
This is a one-time scholarship, however successful recipients and all other applicants may re-apply and be added to the new pool for the opportunity to be awarded the scholarship in the future
Must possess a minimum GPA of 2.75 or higher
Be enrolled or plan to be enrolled as a full time student (For undergraduates full time is 12+ credits and graduate students full time is as defined by your institution)
There are 2 conservation scholarships ($1000) available to high school seniors that live in Sac County. We have not received any applications to date, so they have a great chance of receiving! All applications must be submitted to the Sac SWCD by Friday, February 6, 2026.
