Today, The National FFA Organization is the official name of the organization. The name was updated from "Future Farmers of America" in 1988 to reflect the growing diversity and opportunities in the agriculture industry. 

The OABCIG FFA Chapter was originally the Odebolt and Ida Grove chapters. The Odebolt Chapter was chartered on February 21st, 1935. While Ida Grove followed 11 years later on February 25th, 1946. Later when the Ida Grove and Battle Creek Community School Districts consolidated the Battle Creek Ida Grove Chapter was chartered on April 20th, 1995. The two chapters (Battle Creek Ida Grove and Odebolt Arthur) later conjoined when the districts consolidated in 2018 to form the OA-BCIG FFA Chapter. We have had one name change to remove the hyphen when district consolidation was official.
