Unit Objectives

By the end of this unit, students will: 

• Assess and Improve Fundamental Skills: Evaluate proficiency in identifying and spelling triads, 7th chords, key signatures, and Roman numerals, and outline a personal plan for improvement over two weeks.

• Develop Strategies for Proficiency: Describe different strategies and tools for identifying and constructing keys, chords, and Roman numerals in major and minor, emphasizing practical methods for practice and improvement.

• Advanced Proficiency in Musical Analysis: Demonstrate proficiency in identifying and diagramming advanced structural elements such as phrase boundaries, authentic and half cadences, parallel periods, contrasting periods, and sentences.
