The Office of Inclusive Engagement and Student Life provides resources, activities, events, social programming, and leadership opportunities outside of the classroom.
The GSA also plans several social events for the student body throughout the academic year. GSA invites graduate students to bring feedback about the program, suggest events and come to them for direction and assistance. For more information please contact silver.gsa@nyu.edu.

Silver Champion
Silver Champions is an ambassador program that connects prospective and newly admitted students with current MSW students or MSW alumni. Champions are volunteers who draw upon their experiences to highlight the opportunities and benefits of an NYU education. Graduate Orientation Leader
As a Graduate Orientation Leader (GOL), you will welcome new students to Silver and help them adjust to life as a graduate student. GOL’s are assigned a group of new students that they lead and support with a specific focus on New Graduate Student Orientation (NGSO) and the first six weeks of the fall semester. contact silver.orientation@nyu.edu for more information!
Phi Alpha Honor Society
The Silver School's Pi Pi Chapter of Phi Alpha was established in 2009. Phi Alpha members make the commitment for professional development, to volunteer in the community, and to meet other students involved in service. Students interested in learning more can contact the Phi Alpha Honor Society at silver.phialpha@nyu.edu.
International students are encouraged to reach out to the Office of Global Services (OGS) for support with immigration, visa, or OPT related questions.
Hannah Levy, Academic Advisor for international students, (hannah.levy@nyu.edu) can also work with MSW international students in collaboration with OGS to address issues or concerns. Please note that only OGS international students on immigration matters.
Josephine (she/her), kindly known as Jo, is our Associate Director. Josephine was born and raised in Brooklyn, NY. She is a proud first generation college student who is currently pursuing her Juris Doctorate at City University of New York School of Law. In her spare time she enjoys cooking, going for a bike ride down the Hudson River, and canvas painting. A life goal of hers is to be a contestant on Chopped! Part of the IESL team, Jo looks forward to building meaningful and supportive connections with students, staff, and faculty at Silver and the greater NYU Community.
Grace (she/her) is the Administrative Aide for the Office of Career & Professional Development as well as the Office of Inclusive Engagement & Student Life. Grace also serves as support staff for Courtney O’Mealley, Associate Dean of Student Affairs. In her role as the Administrative Aide for the Office of Career & Professional Development, Grace serves as the front-facing liaison to students, faculty, alumni, and other community partners. Grace supports the career coaching appointment scheduling process, maintains event pages and web portals, performs event logistics, and will be your go-to for all general inquiries related to co-curricular and student life activities. Prior to her role at NYU Silver, Grace served as a temporary Program Coordinator for the Office of Professional Development at NYU Dentistry. Grace is also a graduate student in NYU Steinhardt’s Sociology of Education program!
Grace speaks four languages (French, Spanish, Italian, and English!), plays guitar, and enjoys any and all creative outlets.
Tatyahna (she/they), commonly known as Rox, is our Master of Social Work Intern in her last year of the two-year program focusing on macro social work. They are originally from Long Beach, California, and loves to write poetry, go to the movies, and be in nature in their spare time. Previously she interned and then worked for the National Association of Social Work-New York State. They are passionate about anti-racist/capitalist/imperialist social work as well as sex positivity, queer inclusivity, and restorative justice. As part of the IESL team this year, Rox is excited to help create community and learn how to best support Silver Students throughout the year.
