The Office of Student-Athlete Excellence (OSAE) is part of the Office of Undergraduate Academic Affairs and reports to Assistant Vice Provost for Academic Affairs, Sarah Beth Bailey. The OSAE is responsible for monitoring student-athlete academic progress through a mid-semester and final grade reporting process. We also certify and monitor student-athlete eligibility per NCAA, UAA conference, and University regulations. In addition to monitoring, the OSAE also offers academic advisement, information and resource support as well as various developmental workshops for student-athletes throughout the year.
The Office of Student-Athlete Excellence staff is committed to providing an opportunity for students to simultaneously excel academically and participate in intercollegiate varsity athletics. The office provides academic support and various services designed to facilitate its goals, which include:
Fostering a community with the highest standards of academic excellence and integrity
Providing supplemental academic advisement, resources, and support
Educating student-athletes on the policies and procedures of the various academic and administrative departments within the University
Ensuring the continued academic success of our current student-athletes while monitoring their individual compliance with Division III NCAA and UAA rules and regulations
Developing and providing programs and services that are enhancing the quality of life for the student-athletes of NYU
Acting as the official liaison between the Athletics Department and University administrative offices such as Admissions, Financial Aid, Bursar, and Housing.
