The Scholarship and Financial Education Office at Silver can assist with scholarship related questions.
The university’s main Office of Financial Aid can answer questions about federal aid including the processing of FAFSA, loans, or work study.
The NYU Financial Education Office who provide resources and tools for all students, regardless of your family’s financial circumstances or your existing level of financial knowledge.
The Bursar’s Office handles matters related to payments, refunds, payment plans, payment methods, and your bill.

The Career Pathways Training (CPT) Program is an education and training program operated by the New York State Department of Health. This program offers funding for education and training for health, behavioral health and social care workers throughout New York State who are committed to working at a Medicaid-enrolled organization.
If you are in need of support regarding access to technology, food, or housing, please complete the NYU Student Emergency Fund application and also share your needs with us through the Silver Emergency Resource Needs Notification Form. Silver’s form allows the Student Affairs team to engage directly with you and connect you to available resources and support.

NYU Courtesy Meals is a short-term, emergency resource for students who are facing an unexpected financial situation and are unable to afford meals or groceries. Courtesy Meals are accepted at our NYC campus only. Learn more about Courtesy Meals here.

The Swipe It Forward program is a collaboration between NYU Dining, Student Government Assembly, and the NYU Office of the Dean of Students, that enables meal plan members to donate meal swipes to fellow food insecure students in need.

Bringing items from home? There is a mini-fridge, microwave, electric water kettle, cutlery, and more available in Room G13 at 1 Washington Square North. Students at Rockland, Westchester, and Shanghai campuses should reach out to their home campus for a list of locations.
The College Student Pantry is a food pantry program for college and graduate students in NYC. The Pantry is run by student volunteers and is there for any student who needs some food. No questions asked.

The Fall 2024 Childcare Subsidy Application is now open. To be eligible, graduate students must be enrolled full-time and have a child under six (6) years of age. More details about eligibility and the link to the application can be found on the website.
HEAP is a federally funded program designed to help low-income homeowners and renters heat and cool their homes. Assistance is based on income, utility type, household size, and household composition.
Homebase provides homeless prevention services to New Yorkers experiencing housing instability. Services include help relocating, short-term financial assistance, services to prevent eviction, assistance obtaining public benefits, emergency rental assistance, education and job placement assistance, and financial counseling and money management.
Presenting an academic paper, a creative project, or a performance exhibit at an academic or professional conference is invaluable to the growth of a student’s intellectual profile and can be beneficial to a student’s future career beyond NYU. The purpose of the Conference Attendance Grant is to off-set the cost of registration and participation in an academic or professional conference.
Organizing a conference is a unique way for students to facilitate discussions on a range of disciplinary and professional topics by creating a forum for intellectual and professional development. Conference organization is also a valuable experience that will enrich a student’s academic or career profile. The purpose of the Conference Organization Grant is to off-set the cost of organizing a conference at NYU.
NYU students, faculty, and staff can borrow a Mac or PC laptop from Bobst and Dibner Libraries. Laptops have wireless Internet access and printing capability, and include productivity software (word processing, etc.). Learn more about laptop loans here.
The Silver Moving Forward Fund was created in Spring 2020 to provide small grants up to $300 to graduating BS and MSW students for many of the additional costs associated with graduation and accessing critical credentialing. Mark your calendar: Moving Forward Fund applications open in late February 2025.

Applications reopen in Spring 2025
The Wasserman Center Internship Grant was established to provide financial assistance to students pursuing unpaid internships in qualifying industries that do not traditionally pay their interns. The Wasserman Center offers $1,200 grants during the fall and spring semesters, and $2,000 grants during the summer. Applications are reviewed by Wasserman Center staff and representatives from various NYU academic departments along with feedback from the Office of Financial Aid.
NJ Transit fare options for students, including discounts on travel to college classes, parochial or public schools.
Reduced fares for MTA riders (NYC subways and buses), who are 65 or older, have qualifying disabilities, and or are in a low-income household in NYC.
Fair Fares NYC is a City program created to help New Yorkers with low incomes manage their transportation costs. Using the Fair Fares NYC MetroCard, eligible New York City residents receive a 50% discount on subway and eligible bus fares.
