A type of arpeggiated pattern in the bass that follows the pattern: lowest chord tone, highest chord tone, middle chord tone, highest chord tone.
Other accompaniment patterns that incorporate chord arpeggiation in the bass with block chords or melody above.
This is a pattern that is common in waltzes and marches. It's a low bass note ("boom"), followed by chord tones on the following beat(s) ("chick").
