The NYU Neuroscience Outreach Group’s (NOGN) Immersive Program is focused on investigating concepts in neuroanatomy, learning, memory, diseases of the brain, the senses, and careers in neuroscience. This course helps students gain the skills and understand the science courses needed in high school and college to have a career in health or human sciences.
Philosophy is something you have already thought about even if you didn’t know that, that was what you were doing. This class is an opportunity to go deeper into questions that have fascinated thinkers for thousands of years, learning what famous philosophers have to say about these questions and learning to better develop and articulate and defend your own views. This course helps students improve their reading and critical thinking and even math skills!
First Person Narrative is a filmmaking-based production class that is focused on the art and craft of the personal video essay. Students will be encouraged to identify, research, and explore subject matter that has some actual core basis in her/his/their lives. This course helps students gain skills needed for a career in the arts and develops their thinking for writing college essays!
This program is made possible through a partnership with Tandon's Center for K12 STEM Education. CCL Scholars admitted to this program will follow two sets of guidelines and schedules- for the duration of the three-week program.
Cybersecurity is a high-paying field growing at ten times the rate of the overall job market, and one in which women are dramatically underrepresented. The United States and many other countries have a shortage of cybersecurity professionals, a situation that has been recognized as a major threat to national security. Students will tackle a variety of topics including but not limited to digital forensics, steganography, “white-hat” hacking, and cryptography.
