Create a Doc. Name it TA_-Notes about (Your Topic)-FLastname example: TA3-Notes about The Pascaline-HVela
Explore your topic with the, uh, Explore Tool. (Lower right hand corner of your Doc). That's right. Research right in your own document. You're welcome.
Remember to write what you LEARNED in your own WORDS because showing what you know is the name of the game-not copying what other people know. That is plagiarism.
You should plan on gathering between 10 and 15 notes about your topic.
Remember the 5 Ws. Who was involved? When was it developed? What is it? How does it work? Why is this innovation significant (important). Your research needs to weave the 5 Ws into a narrative about its development.
Remember, take your notes on your Google Doc. You should finish with your notes today. You will turn them, and your draft, in tomorrow.
Wikipedia is a good place to start, but is not a source! Even Wikipedia says so. So go there, read about your topic to learn the basics, and then go find a source that has a reliable author to cite. If you find your article difficult to understand, try Simple Wikepedia instead
