Current Bailout Horses

We are New York Last Chance Bail-out Relief & Rescue, Inc. and we help place horses that are in the slaughter channel get out! These horses that are considered bailouts are owned by a slaughter buyer and he sends them to either Mexico or Canada. In the last two years, we are almost at 1000 horses saved! 

Any horses posted on the Bailout tab or our Facebook page that do not have red hearts on their posting are not safe. These horses are at risk for going back on the truck headed for the Mexican border. While our dealer has an abnormal heart than most, we still only have a short window of opportunity to find a home before being shipped out. We only have a week's time with them to find homes. We try to evaluate quickly, try our best to find new homes and by the end, we hope they all get their bail.

Every horse, pony, donkey, mule and equine is sold as is. We cannot guarantee any horse's soundness, health or training. Every horse goes through a quick evaluation for temperament, riding ability and lameness but we do sometimes miss things. We really do not try to miss anything! Every horse deserves the best opportunity to go in the right home that is the best for them. The shortened period of time makes it difficult to get a full on evaluation for everything. If you want a guarantee, then you need to buy a horse from a private sale or get the glee of guessing at an auction. 

Every single one of these horses have a Coggins pulled for testing and the veterinarian sees them to evaluate their condition. Due to NYS regulations and making things more difficult, horses going out of state should have a health certificate. Our vet can do this for you at an extra cost to you. 

We microchip the horses because if they should end up somewhere again, we want them to have another chance to make it back to us rather than in the slaughter channel again. This should NEVER happen again. If you get a horse from us, do what is right for them! We will offer to take them back instead.

This has been started to help provide horses the opportunity in New York to find homes and be rescued. We are making the effort to get the horses out of the slaughter chain. We work with a buyer that is willing to have us show the horses and try to get them sold before he ships to either Canada or Mexico! 

What we do is house the horses for a week to find their way out. If not rehomed by the date we must have them hauled back so please don't wait till last minute to save as he wants them back in time to process for the haul out.  

1. When you decide you would like to rehome one of our horses, you need to pm the page. Payment options include PAYPAL, VENMO, SQUARE, ZELLE and CASH. NO checks. The horse is yours when paid and confirmed. All horses are rehomed AS-IS! Also it is whoever sends full payment first. There are no holds without payment, if for some reason there is multiple payments on one horse you will be refunded. There is no refunds or trades once confirmed!

2. Once you have paid for your horse you will need to pm the page and let us know if you will be picking up or if you will be having a transporter pick up. Please pm us with the below information so we can get it into the horse's file.

3. BOARDING/QUARANTINE INFORMATION - Due to the possibility of many issues/bad reviews on haulers and Quarantine providers we HIGHLY suggest to board/Quarantine. We only want what is best for the horses. We can provide board for your horse for a cost per day.

Board per day: $25

BOARD STARTS THE DAY AFTER YOU SEND PAYMENT. Horses are provided hay and 14% feed.

YOUR BOARD BILL IS NOT DUE UNTIL IT IS TIME FOR YOUR HORSE TO LOAD OUT AND GO HOME. WE ASK THAT YOU DON'T SEND RANDOM PAYMENTS AS IT IS DIFFICULT TO KEEP UP WITH. FULL BOARD BILL IS DUE BEFORE THE HORSE CAN BE LOADED TO LEAVE.  WE DO HAVE MONTHLY BOARD RATE. 

Also remember, we are not a feed/kill lot, so once the horses get to our facility they are technically already being quarantined. The sooner you get them paid and into a stall the less likely they are to pick up something from another horse. 

4. The next step we highly recommend is to set up an appointment with us to have your horse vet checked! Also if your horse is in Quarantine with us then we suggest to have them wormed, vaccinations and all done prior to getting health papers if they are required.

5. THIS ONE IS VERY IMPORTANT!!

When you are scheduling your pick up YOU MUST MAKE AN APPOINTMENT TO PICK UP AND MUST SCHEDULE IT 24 HOURS IN ADVANCE!! We do have lives as well outside the barn and need to make sure someone can be there to meet you.

6. If you would like for your horse to be washed and groomed before pick up or before being moved into Quarantine this is available for a $60 fee. The horse will be bathed with Cowboy magic shampoo and conditioner and get a good scrub down. They will get show sheen to make them shiny and smooth and can have their manes and tails braided for an additional $15 to be ready for pickup to come to their new homes. This option is only available for halter broke horses.

7. If you will be having your horse stay for more than a day, we can offer beginning training evaluations. What this allows is a more detailed performance evaluation of what the horse knows and can do. A rider will get on and see more in depth of the horse's riding ability. We will also perform an on the ground assessment of manners, behavior and personal space. These evaluations take about an hour and half for the horse to show us what they do and do not know.

Secondly, we can offer day to day training for the horse while they are with us. This could include a variety of training options depending on what they know after evaluation. This can be discussed with the new owners upon paying the bail for the horse.

Evaluation: $50

Additional Training per day: $30

And all negative comments will be deleted. They don't help in the end and can limit the horse's options by pushing people away. We all have various training methods, and not everyone will agree with them all.
