"Isana" is a 21 year old bay tobiano Paint mare. She originally came through the Bailout from the dealer's kill-pen. She was bailed through community funds and was here with no home claims for a month and a half. When the charitable corporation was formed, and a sponsor stepped up, she is now safe in the system.
She came in with a nasty pneumonia that we finally have treated. "Isana" has felt better with the weight going back on and her full personality has become more apparent. She is strong on the ground and opinionated on what she wants. We are working on adjusting that behavior through her daily handling.
She is food aggressive and eats well! She will need to be sedated for dental work.
She stands about 15 hands and maybe with time and weight/conditioning, she might be able to ride again. When we rode her the first time she came in, she knew something!
She does pick up her front legs well but needs more work for the hind legs for the farrier.
Isana also would be great for a pasture companion, though she would be a dominant mare in the field.
We do not recommend her for beginners or unconfident intermediate homes.
"Isana's" adoption fee is $500 and you can email emily@nylastchancerr.org for an application.
She will come fully vaccinated, dewormed, microchipped, and hooves trimmed.
