OPEN TO ALL FULL AND PART TIME FACULTY

Do you want to improve classroom experiences by incorporating emerging technology or do you have an idea you just want to develop a little further with a colleague?


New York Tech’s Emerging Technology Group (ETG) is offering a request for proposals for new Emerging Technology Innovation Awards, with a focus on collaboration and interdisciplinarity. There are two options for the mini-grant awards being offered this summer to facilitate work on emerging technologies, with 10 awards available in total.

  • Two options are available:

    • $250 Exploratory Grant: collaborate with another faculty member over the summer to develop an idea for future development. Expected outcome: A working plan for developing technology with classroom implementation.

    • $500 Implementation Grant: work on an instructional experience for future classroom implementation. Expected outcome: A module or other classroom experience for classroom implementation.

  • The grants intend to foster collaboration between departments and schools with the ultimate goal of classroom implementation.

  • The grants will offer cash payments and the ability to borrow hardware and acquire software licenses where applicable.

  • All grant recipients will present their idea/implementation to the ETG this summer and have the opportunity to present to a larger group of faculty this fall.

  • Grant deadlines:

    • Proposal Submission: 7/25/2021

    • Proposal Decision: 8/01/2021

    • Presentation to ETG: 9/15/2021

    • Presentation to Faculty: Mid-Fall 2021
