Message To Parents
Dear Parents,
As we begin Term 2, many students are preparing for their weighted assessments, which can understandably increase pressure at home and school. While doing well matters, equally important are confidence, emotional resilience, and a balanced approach to learning. Teachers, parents and peers all play a part in supporting each child—through encouragement, helping them establish healthy study routines, and normalising setbacks as opportunities to grow. Simple actions like regular check-ins, creating calm study spaces, and emphasising rest and wellbeing make a big difference. Together, we can help our students approach challenges with a positive mindset and rediscover the joy of learning!

Bilingual Youth Model United Nations (BYMUN 2026) Opening Ceremony
The Chinese, Humanities and English departments jointly hosted the 5th Bilingual Youth Model United Nations (BYMUN) Conference from 25–27 March 2026, under the theme “Moving Forward, Our Voices As One (” 心系寰宇，众声与共). As Singapore’s first and only bilingual (English–Chinese) conference for secondary students, BYMUN offered delegates a platform to debate pressing global issues in both languages, strengthening bilingual proficiency while developing communication, critical thinking and global literacy. The three-day conference welcomed 21 local secondary schools—including 10 SAP and mainstream schools—and three overseas partner schools from Malaysia and Taiwan, fostering meaningful cross‑cultural dialogue and collaboration among young leaders.

On the morning of 6 March the hall was awash in soft pastels as our student leaders, smart in their school blazers, took their oaths before the school. Aligned with this year’s theme, “Guided by purpose, forward as one (不忘初心，携手同行)”, the SLs reaffirmed their commitment to serve, encouraging the school community to step beyond comfort zones and lead with purpose in their own ways.

Whenever the opportunities arises, we welcome back our ex-students who are currently in their first or second year of junior college to reconnect with our school community and mentor the next cohort by inviting them to share candid reflections on their Secondary 4 year, offer practical study and well-being tips, and inspire our students with real-life strategies for managing academics and stress as they approach their final year. Lai Xiu Hui from Class 403 shares her reflections based on a recent sharing by her seniors.

School Events - Hosting The Affiliated High School of Peking University
Each year, we welcome partner schools from across the globe, inviting rich cultural exchange into our classrooms. During these visits, our students interview their visiting peers, discovering new traditions, viewpoints, and life experiences while building friendships and deeper global understanding. Esther Teo and Lai Xiu Hui of Class 403 speaks to our student visitors from the Affiliated High School of Peking University when they visited the school from 2-6 February.

Our students took a well-deserved breather after a term of focused learning and school activities to participate in the school's Life Skills Programme (LSP)—a thoughtfully designed series of activities tailored to the developmental needs and holistic growth of each level. "On 18 October, former principal and then Board member, Mdm Liew Yuen Sien, passed away at the age of 83, due to illness. To honour her inimitable contributions to the school that had been her life, the hearse circled the school compound as students and staff stood solemnly on both sides of the driveway, at attention, to pay their last respects to a woman who had left an indelible mark on their lives. Alumni members mourned her passing and contributed sums of money to her family. Her family members donated the contributions that amounted to $9000, to the school. The Board of Directors decided to use the funds to build the ‘Yuen Sien Pavilion’ and ‘Chin Tian Pavilion’ in the school courtyard, in recognition of their contributions to the school."
