Vision for Technology

The Northwest Local School District is committed to providing students with a technology rich learning environment to ensure that all students will have personalized opportunities to develop the 21st century skills necessary to be productive citizens in an information-driven, global society.

Our vision is based on the following beliefs…

• Technology should be used to redefine teaching and learning and infused into content.
• In an ever changing world where technology is fluid, students and staff should be flexible and continuously learning and adapting.
• Technology is used to innovate students learning, communication and interaction at a deep level both locally and globally.
• The most appropriate technology should be used to achieve personalized authentic experiences for our students.
• We should establish and maintain community partnerships to facilitate digital equity.

Goal 1: Technology will transform teaching and learning.

At NWLSD, all learners (students and staff) will have personalized and authentic learning experiences that inspire them to be active, innovative, collaborative problem solvers, and responsible digital citizens in our globally connected society.

Goal 2: Technology is a tool that will help us connect students, staff and the community to make informed decisions.

At all levels, our district will leverage the power of technology to measure what matters and use data to improve teaching and learning.

Goal 3: We will continue to provide a safe, secure and robust infrastructure to handle today and tomorrow’s technology needs.

All students and educators will have access systems, networks, supports and policies that maintain and improve technology enabled learning.
