Empty bowls project

In the 1990s an art teacher in Michigan figured out a way to help his students and their community. He had his students create bowls that he then sold and donated all of the money to local food banks and shelters. For more information go to http://www.emptybowls.net/.

For our empty bowls project, students use the idea of "something the world needs more of" to design their bowls and then we sell them for $5 at the annual art show. Last year we sold over $400! All the money that we raise gets donated to the Interfaith Hospitality Network. For more information on the IHN go to http://www.theihn.com/
