🗝️ Attitude:
Keep it positive: This is one of the biggest keys to success in Math, but also one of the most difficult to achieve. Math is challenging and at times it can be very frustrating! Try not to let math get the best of you. I am here to help, so please don't be afraid to ask! Hang out after class, come see me during Tiger Period, or send an email!
🗝️ Homework:
Complete Homework: You must do your homework to succeed. Homework helps to reinforce concepts, which leads to better understanding! Homework will be assigned and checked almost daily.
Effort Counts: All work doesn’t have to be correct, but you must show honest effort. If you are struggling and have used resources like notes and online textbook tutorials, please email Mrs. Yenser so she can help you in class.
On-Time Submission: Turn in homework on time for full credit.
🗝️ Notes and Notebooks:
Take Notes: You should take neat, organized notes with examples during class. They will help you with homework and studying.
Organize Your Notebook: Keep an organized notebook with bell ringers, class notes, activities, homework, and assessments. At the end of each chapter, we will decide what to keep and what to throw out.
🗝️ Assessments:
Prepare: Be sure to review your notes every night. Don't wait until the last minute to study for an assessment. The best way to study is to practice! Use problems from class, homework, and notes to create a practice test.
Second Chances: Students who score below 70% on an assessment will often be given the opportunity to complete assessment corrections for a passing score. Be sure to take advantage of this if it is offered!
🗝️ Missing Class:
Check for Missed Work: If you miss class, look at the “While You Were Out” document and the front board for what you missed.
Copy Notes: Copy notes from a classmate and complete any assigned work.
Follow Up: See Mrs. Yenser to discuss missed notes and assignments as soon as possible.
