Independent Work will be worth 10% of your grade. This category can include homework, IXL assignments, and notebook checks.
Homework will be checked daily for completion with effort.
IXL skills will be assigned weekly. You will choose two skills from your Fireworks/Rainbow menu and work to achieve a smart score of 80 or higher. You should use the lesson and video resources in IXL to help if needed.
Class Work Score The class work category will be used for many miscellaneous items. The class work score is worth 30% of your grade. Some of these items include activities that are completed in class, group/partner work, graded bell ringers, or exit tickets.
Assessments will be worth 60% of your grade. The assessment category will include tests, quizzes, and projects.
Quizzes are given to assess one or more topics within a unit. Quizzes will be announced in advance.
Tests will be given at the conclusion of a unit. Tests will always be announced several days before they are given, and we will always review prior to the test.
Projects may be incorporated throughout the year. General information and requirements will be distributed in advance for each project.
7th Grade Math: An end-of course assessment will be administered at the end of May. This test will be a factor in 8th-grade math placement. We will review before this exam.
Accelerated Math: A final exam will be given at the end of May. This will count towards your grade for the year. We will review before this exam.
