Science

The science program emphasizes the knowledge and skills related to lifetime needs.

The following units are taught in first grade:

Health and Safety- parts of the body and their function, food and nutrition, ways to stay healthy

Magnets- north and south poles, attract and repel

Weather- seasons, kinds of weather, sunlight, wind

Ecology- recycling, conservation, pollution

Plants- parts of plants, seeds, what plants need to grow
