Language Arts

Our language arts program is a combination of modules aligned to the Common Core and "Journeys".

6 units with 5 themes

Program Components:

A new theme begins every 5 days and includes:

• phonics / phonemic awareness
• spelling words
• high frequency words
• whole group and small group reading stories
• reading strategies and skills
• grammar
• writing

Assessments:

• spelling test with each lesson
• HFW test at end of unit (after 5 lessons)
• quizzes
• lesson tests (include: HFW, comprehension, phonics)
• unit tests (include: HFW, comprehension, phonics)
• daily writing assignments
• monthly writings
