Many NVNTRAK events include a JMRI WiThrottle server so that throttle apps on phones or tablets can be used to run trains.
To use the WiThrottle app:
Ensure you have installed a WiThrottle app for your phone or tablet. Recommended apps are:
Android: Engine Driver (free) by Steve Todd - equivalent to a Digitrax DT602D throttle (Download | Web Site)
iOS:
WiThrottle Lite (free) by Zemkies Unlimited - equivalent to a Digitrax UT6D throttle (Download | Web Site)
WiThrottle (paid) by Zemkies Unlimited - equivalent to a Digitrax DT602D throttle (Download | Web Site)
Connect the Wifi Network advertised by the JMRI WiThrottle server.
Network name or SSID is NVNTRAK1, NVNTRAK2, or NVNTRAK3
Ask the Layout Coordinator for the network password
Open the WiThrottle app. It should automatically connect to the JMRI WiThrottle server.
Enter your locomotive address and run trains.
Remember to dispatch or release your address when you are done.
