Good afternoon!
My name is Sameer Sharma and I’m a member of the Princeton iGEM Team, a program about synthetic biology, and we’d like to share the information provided below to your students about our upcoming free, online hardware competition!
Thank you for your assistance and please let us know if you have any additional questions, we’d be happy to help answer them.
Best regards,
Sameer Sharma & Princeton iGEM Team
Princeton University’s premier International Genetically Engineered Machines (iGEM) Team is organizing PITCCH, a free, online hardware competition open to all students currently enrolled in or set to begin middle or high school (grades 5-12) as of September 1, 2026. Any student with access to the Internet can download CAD software for free and compete in the Princeton iGEM Team CAD Competition for Hardware (PITCCH).
Your goal is to design a 3D printed/CAD “bio-filter” that optimizes contact surface area for the most effective filtration process. We will evaluate your design and run it through a series of tests to determine which bio-filter traps the greatest concentration of contaminants to win Princeton iGEM’s PITCCH CAD Modeling Certificate & custom trophy!
Read the document below to learn more information about the competition.
