One of the biggest sporting events of the year is coming up on Feb. 8, 2026—the Super Bowl! If you don’t know, the Super Bowl is the championship in the NFL, with the winner of each conference. We asked students about their thoughts on the big game. The results were mixed, to say the least. 12 of the league’s 32 teams were predicted to win the Super Bowl by South CTA Sabers. This can be attributed to several factors, including the unpredictability of the current NFL season, bias, and simply picking a team you like. Seven of the 12 predicted teams made last season’s playoffs.
Last year’s winner was the Philadelphia Eagles when they defeated the Kansas City Chiefs. This year's predicted winner is a tie between the Seattle Seahawks and the Los Angeles Rams. That means that the NFC teams are current favorite to hold the Lombardi Trophy once again. Both of these teams are arch-rivals and are in the same division. The betting odds show with these predictions because the Los Angeles Rams are the current favorites to win the Super Bowl this season. In all, South CTA students predict that one of the Seattle Seahawks or Los Angeles Rams will become Super Bowl champions.
The remaining teams are the Seattle Seahawks, Los Angeles Rams, Denver Broncos, and the New England Patriots. Who do you think will hoist the Lombardi Trophy?
