Josephina, or widely known as Jojo, is a student here at South that plays volleyball and has since grown a strong passion for it. All students have their ups and downs, no matter what it is. Jojo has had struggled during her time playing sports and she says that her hardest time was when she had a knee injury that put her out of playing. Her advice to younger kids is that it's okay to back out on the sport if the coach sucks, staying will make playing the sport a horrible time.
Karmin Riff has played volleyball and flag football since sixth grade, building strong teamwork, focus, and dedication. She now plays flag football at Silverado High School, using her experience to support her team and stay competitive. Her long-term commitment shows her passion for sports. She balances school and athletics by practicing after school and completing homework in the evening, while working to build positive relationships with teammates and coaches.
Sebastian plays multiple sports with the honorable mention of jiujitsu where he has been through lots of trials. In the end, he keeps on moving through all the hard things in his life while improving in his sport constantly. He advises kids to keep going and have a strong heart through all of this.

Alexis plays flag football. Her biggest injury was an ankle injury that stopped her from playing for awhile but she ended up moving on and thriving. She says to kids to move through whatever you can with a big heart and keep going.
She plays volleyball and with that comes lots of effort and she is working incredibly hard while improving constantly. She said she has been through a lot but despite that she continues to move forward through it all. Her advice to young people looking to try out for volleyball is to always be positive and never give up.
These student athletes will continue to pursue this lovely lifestyle with their sports and will hopefully one day become a professional in their field and work to inspire more young people like them. So just think this is the depth behind people you see every single day and we hope their stories inspired you to join a sport of your choosing and pursue your dreams.
