At the beginning of the school year, students were challenged to think creatively and design a project that could make a real impact on students through their program. For Julian Cap and his teammates, who are in the Finance and Business Marketing program here at South CTA. The goal was clear: create something useful, original and meaningful for students everywhere.

Cap and his team, Zion Willis, Nixon Betiong and Jesse Concepcion, set out to develop an idea unlike anything other groups were working on. 

“We wanted our idea to be unique,” Cap said. 

Although they had just met, the group quickly learned how to combine their strengths and collaborate.

Their final creation was an app designed to help students navigate financial decisions with confidence. The app gives personalized advice, rewards users with points when they save money, and deducts points for poor financial choices, all while teaching them how to make smarter decisions next time.

Cap’s favorite moment came at the end, when the team proudly showed their work and saw how much dedication other groups put into their projects. Looking ahead, he says he’s excited for the upcoming PBL and ready for the challenges and opportunities it will bring.
