At South Career and Technical Academy, student life goes beyond the classroom. Our goal is to create a culture where every student feels connected, supported, and inspired to grow.
Students at South CTA are part of either the Innovation Academy or the Leadership Academy, with access to specialized career pathways ranging from Advanced Manufacturing and Cyber Defense to Education & Leadership, Entertainment & Sports Marketing, Finance, and Sports Medicine. These pathways provide authentic, hands-on experiences that connect learning to real-world opportunities.
Student organizations and clubs are an essential part of life at South CTA. From Career and Technical Student Organizations (CTSOs) like SkillsUSA, HOSA, and DECA to interest-based clubs, students have opportunities to lead, collaborate, and showcase their skills.
As a magnet school, South CTA students may participate in NIAA sports at their zoned CCSD school. On campus, we will host intramural sports and wellness activities throughout the year, including our annual Academy Cup competitions and community events like the Saber Flag Football Homecoming Game.
Our student life is built around collaboration, innovation, and community engagement. Events such as quarterly exhibitions, spirit weeks, and leadership challenges bring students together and highlight their creativity. Students also take part in service learning and community partnerships that strengthen connections beyond our campus.
At South CTA, student life is about more than activities—it’s about belonging, leadership, and preparing for a future where students are ready to make a difference.
